One of my new weekly rituals is to head to breakfast at Velvet Kitchen with my friend Jessica. They have fabulous breakfast sandwiches and burritos and a delightful almond milk latte that the whole neighborhood is raving about. I'm a fan of their espresso machine-steamed eggs. They are light and fluffy and pair well with with bacon, of course! They also make these adorable homemade, miniature pop tarts! Sadly, when I passed by the cafe on my way to the SoFAB Culinary Library the other day, I noticed a sign on their door that said they will be closed through the New Year! I guess Jessica and I will have to find a new morning haunt.
