During my first week in New Orleans, I accompanied Rick to an event for Southeastern Louisiana University. This party was held in the famous "Wedding Cake" House on St. Charles Avenue. The house is called this because of its layered architectural exterior which resembles a fancy wedding cake. The interior of the home was lovely. My favorite part was the gorgeous gold, purple and green stained glass window along the main staircase. I found my way to the kitchen and chatted with the caterer, told her about my project, and picked up a few cooking tips. Overall, a successful evening!
